The tight-access lift with its boom extended into a bare tree canopy

Projects

Real jobs, real properties, North Iowa

Photographs from our own work — lawns seeded from bare soil, trees taken down over houses, and storm damage cleared before breakfast. No stock photography anywhere on this page.

Crane-assisted removal

Lifted out over the roof

A tree too close to the house to drop, taken apart from the top and lifted out in sections over the roof.

Tight-access work

Working aloft where a truck can’t be positioned

March 2026 · two visits · 8 photographs

The tracked lift travels over ground a bucket truck can’t reach, and puts the work up in the canopy rather than at the end of a rope. On this job it was set beneath the trees and the crew worked from the basket, taking the tops down in sections.

It’s the machine that decides whether a back-yard tree is a job we can take or one we have to turn down.

The metadata puts these photographs at the same location five days apart — two visits to one property, not two different jobs.

Lawn establishment

Bare graded soil to hydroseed in an afternoon

12 May 2025 · one property · 22 photographs over 2 h 39 min

The largest single job in our photo library, and a good look at what lawn establishment actually involves. The ground was graded and prepared under mature trees, then hydroseeded the same afternoon — seed, mulch and tackifier in one pass.

The green you see is the mulch in the mix. It holds moisture against the seed and keeps it in place while it germinates.

Both photographs below are from the same property on the same afternoon — prep, then seeded. We don’t have a photograph of this lawn grown in, so we’re not showing you one.

Storm response

Four properties in two days

28–29 July 2025 · first photograph at 4:59 a.m.

A storm came through on the night of 28 July. The first photographs from the second property were taken at 4:59 in the morning, under floodlights, with a tree across the lawn and the roof already opened up.

By the end of the following day we had worked four separate properties — trees off roofs, limbs out of siding, driveways cleared.
